Wat is het speelcentrum?

De meeste games die we volgen start je ergens anders — vanuit Steam, vanuit je eigen bibliotheek, via een snelkoppeling op je bureaublad. Deze pagina is voor de games waarvoor dat niet geldt.

Speelbaar in deze browser

De game heeft een webbuild waarvan wij de loader hosten. Druk op spelen en hij opent hier op deze pagina, zonder installatie. Heb je een server gekozen, dan verbindt hij je daarmee.

Doorgegeven aan de TMC-app

De game is geen webbuild, maar is netjes verbonden met onze desktopapp — we kunnen die de game, de server en je startopties meegeven, en de app doet de rest. Dat is iets anders dan een gewone connect-link, die alleen een adres kent.

Waarom staat mijn game hier niet?

Omdat hij niet te starten is via de officiële TMC-app of via je webbrowser. Dat zijn de enige twee manieren waarop iets vanaf deze pagina start, dus een game waarvoor we geen van beide kunnen, staat op zijn eigen pagina en in de serverbrowser.

Je avatar gaat met je mee

Het figuur bovenaan deze pagina is van jou. Kleed het hier of in de app aan; games die het ondersteunen laden je ermee in. De assets zijn open source en de dienst is zelf te hosten — deze instantie is de officiële.

Our gaming platform is built on Godot, and all of it is open source

Every game, server and avatar above runs on the Dot series — The Modding Community's own collection of Godot 4 assets. Around fifty engine addons, a launcher, a server tool and the reference games that run them, all of it public and all of it free to take. Build something with it, stand a server up, and it turns up on this page beside everything else.

Anybody can spin up a server

The server tool stands a dedicated Dot server up on a box you control, points it at us, and from there it is listed here on its own — live players, map, the lot. There is nothing to apply for and nobody to ask.

Accounts, avatars, content delivery, netcode, dedicated servers, timers and leaderboards — the parts of a game platform that are not engine features, as addons that sit on top of stock Godot. Use the whole set or one piece of it.

Start building

This is all in very, very early development

Everything launchable from this page — the games, the addons under them, the server tool and the avatar — is a work in progress with plenty still broken. Expect crashes, empty servers, missing pieces and features that are half-finished. There are a lot of known issues and a long way to go.

Which is exactly why help is appreciated. Run a server and list it here, file what you find, or work on the platform itself — the engine addons, the games and the tooling are all open source. Start with the TMC Dot developer guide, or read the source on GitHub.
